Here is a look back at what we did together to make this world a better place.

From Florida to Alaska and everywhere in between, our efforts have brought attention to important issues affecting bears, including bringing justice to a polar bear killer, stopping bear hunt expansions, and more. We also completed our Bear War Map that lists all the states with a bear hunting season. The map includes details about the methods used to kill bears and what is and is not prohibited. The fight to protect bears continues.

Shark Watch now covers 13 counties and 17 cities across Florida, and our partnership with Saving Our Sharks and Desmitificando Tiburones in Mexico has made Shark Watch an International program. In February, we attended the Senate Rules Committee Hearing in Tallahassee to waive in support of SB680. In September, Florida's Governor signed SB680  banning the import, export, and sale of shark fins.

Our website highlights the inhumane treatment and conditions of animals at SeaQuest's across the United States. In a major victory, SeaQuest was evicted from Ft. Lauderdale's Galleria Mall before opening. SeaQuest's eviction is a huge win for the animals that have been abused, neglected, and killed at their facilities. We hope this win brings hope to the other people fighting SeaQuest in cities across the country.

One Poster

This year we helped empower people by providing them with posters, graphics, advice, and equipment for causes near and dear to their hearts.  We support activism and advocacy work, and in these challenging times, we hope One Poster provides activists with the tools they need to stand up against injustice.  We've added nine new posters to our website this year, and they are all available to be downloaded free of charge.

One Protest assisted ALDF and FARM SANCTUARY with a raid and rescue mission of animals kept at a backyard slaughterhouse in Ft. Myers, Florida. The animals lived in horrific conditions; many were deprived of fresh food and water and appeared to be in poor health. The people that ran these operations tortured, neglected, and killed the animals in their care. We helped save 113 animal's lives that day.

We are now utilizing the use of drone technology. With drones, we can collect and process data into maps and metrics. This year, we've begun monitoring the impact humans have on the environment, such as deforestation, climate change, and geotubes. We are also mapping out forests and tracking wildlife populations for their protection with our DJI Matrice 300 RTK.

Trailer for Wildside Documentary

On The Wild Side is a documentary that dives into the darkness of trophy hunting/ hunting and provides captivating, heartwrenching stories from the heroes and heroines fighting on the frontlines to protect animals.

Our Executive Director, Adam Sugalski, is featured in this thought-provoking, eye-opening film. He speaks from his soul as he recounts the harrowing memories of his fight to stop black bear trophy hunting in Florida.

The Florida Channel - Elephant rides in Florida (full story starts around the 20 min mark).

"Public awareness of the abusive and systemic practices used in the animal entertainment industry is growing. It is time for society to move past this antiquated way of thinking and start to treat elephants with the respect they deserve." - Adam Sugalski

On March 9, 2020, the Florida Senate passed SB680. "The fin trade is one of the greatest threats sharks on this planet face. This new bill sets a precedent for the future protection of Earth's vulnerable shark populations." - Adam Sugalski

Watch our Executive Director, Adam Sugalski's talk from Shark Allies' 7 Days to Save Sharks Challenge. Learn about our Shark Watch program and what inspired him to start saving sharks.

"The 62 bears that were killed today are a perfect example of how out of touch wildlife agencies are with public opinion. Wildlife belongs to every citizen as a collective trust, not just those that want to hunt them," - Adam Sugalski

This article was written due to public opposition to Missouri's proposal to open up a bear hunting season. It showcases the importance of speaking up against injustice. We had several calls-to-action requesting that people contact The Missouri Department of Conservation to express their disapproval of a bear hunt.

Polar bear killer sentenced to three months in federal prison, one year of supervised release, and a $4,500 fine. At his sentencing hearing, U.S. District Court Judge Ralph Beistline noted the importance of deterring similar conduct.

In a major victory for animals, SeaQuest gets evicted from Ft. Lauderdale's Galleria Mall before opening. We helped save thousands of animals from a miserable life in captivity through our collaboration with No SeaQuest Fort Lauderdale.

We assisted the Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF) and Farm Sanctuary in a rescue mission that saved 113 farm animals from horrific conditions at a backyard slaughterhouse farm in Lee County, Florida. The animals now live happily at several different animal sanctuaries.

Our combined forces make us stronger. With our fellow earthlings facing such dire circumstances, it is imperative to collaborate with others to leverage our collective knowledge and skills to build a world where humans, animals, and nature flourish.

Communications Director

One Protest was instrumental in the success of the rescue of 113 animals from a backyard slaughter operation in Florida following an Animal Legal Defense Fund lawsuit. Not only did they have the experience to assist in handling and moving the animals quickly and respectfully—they were also able to gather important evidence needed to pursue additional charges against the abusers.

With your support, we can keep our campaigns going and growing. We can reach more people to save bears, sharks, elephants, puppies, sea turtles, sandhill cranes, and more…

Your donation will help us keep fighting on the front lines to protect animals imperiled by abuse and exploitation.
